Contest night is always an interesting occasion. Speakers often wait until shortly before the contest to declare their entry which adds a bit of mystery and intrigue to the occasion. The International Speech Contest and the Evaluations Contest is no different except the stakes are higher. Only Toastmasters who have completed 6 competent communicator speeches or more may enter.
Often new Toastmasters will take on speeches in other clubs or frequently at their own club to reach the qualifying mark, These contests are an opportunity to see first hand how entrants deal with their topic, craft their speeches, manage the pressure of time and do something out of the ordinary. Contest night can be the making of a great speaker or a night where even the mighty may falter. Come along and enjoy the fun. Mark the 13th March at 7.45pm at The Silken Thomas Pub in your diary!
